Job Summary:

Produce daily stories to service five (5) different newscasts which include research work, contacting resource speakers, conducting interviews, writing scripts and closely working with the editor;

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

Gathers and verifies the most up-to-date facts and advises stories gathered for the day to the newsdesk.
Maintains extensive community contacts and awareness of local, national and international news and events through interviews, investigation and observation.
Receives assignments or evaluate leads and tips in order to develop story ideas.
Investigates and determines the validity of the news story leads. Ensure that the most interviewing competent persons and the sources of the news themselves are the first hand people to get.
Conducts interviews with key personalities vital to the story to be able to give a comprehensive report and as part of research and for radio and television programs. Arranges interview with people who can provide information about a particular story.
